Synthesis showcases culture and fashion for a good cause
A mix of fashion, dance and talent always makes for a high-energy performance. Synthesis, the annual student presentation of culture and fashion, was held on Friday, January 17 this year and was no exception.
Students chose to donate ticket proceeds from the event to Eva’s Phoenix, a transitional housing and support service for homeless youth.
“Synthesis is a great opportunity for students to get involved and be a part of something they’ve created,” says faculty supervisor Candace Benedet. “Students do everything from choreograph to perform, design and model their own clothing, and even work backstage on lighting and sound.”
Student leaders Uma Banerjee and Emiko McLean worked with a small team on promotional materials, including videos, posters and social media, and then brought their vision to life.
