Janice Lo and Eric Choi

“Our girls love going to school – that’s your best gauge on how a school is doing. They even miss it in the summer! It’s a testament to Branksome being one of the best schools in Canada.”
Every year, Eric Choi and Janice Lo donate to the United Way. This enables them to make one lump sum donation, but allocate funds to the organizations of their choice. This year, the husband and wife earmarked their Circle-level gift to Branksome’s Principal’s Fund.

They have two daughters at the school: Lauren Choi, who is in Grade 5, and Sydney, who is in Grade 2. “Education for us is the most critical way we can contribute to our daughters’ future,” says Janice, a dentist who also volunteers with the Branksome Hall Parents’ Association.

Adds Eric, a banker at Scotiabank, “We’ve become good friends with a number of Branksome parents. We all place the same importance on education in our daughters’ upbringings.”

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We wish to acknowledge this land on which Branksome operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and go to school on this land.

Setting the new standard for girls' education everywhere takes collective action. From all of us.
