University Counselling: ACT/SAT Standardized Testing Presentation

AWC Dining Hall
Grades 9 to 11 families are invited to join the University Counselling Team and special guest Academic Approach to learn more about the standardized tests that are a component of the U.S. college admissions process. Academic Approach is a group from Chicago that specializes in individualized preparation for the U.S. college admissions standardized tests, the SAT and ACT.

Many families wonder about the need to write these standardized tests, how best to prepare for them and what kind of scores are necessary to support a competitive U.S. college application. The role of scores in admissions, athletic recruiting and merit-based scholarships will all be discussed. The content and format of both the SAT and ACT will be presented, and there also will be time to address many common questions, including which of the two tests students should write, when they should write and how many times they should write these tests.

No registration is required.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We wish to acknowledge this land on which Branksome operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and go to school on this land.*

*The Land Acknowledgement may evolve as we honour our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation in partnership with Indigenous communities.

Setting the new standard for girls' education everywhere takes collective action. From all of us.
