 Gift of Securities

A gift of securities may be an attractive option for you. Changes to federal tax laws in 2006 mean that you will no longer be taxed on the capital gains accrued on securities such as public company shares, bonds, mutual fund units and employee stock options, when you donate these to a registered charity such as Branksome Hall or The Branksome Hall Foundation.

For example, a person who donates stock originally purchased for $400 that now has a fair market value of $1,000 will receive a tax receipt from Branksome for $1,000, and will not have to pay any tax on the capital gain of $600. We would be happy to provide personalized illustrations for your situation.

You can transfer securities directly to Branksome Hall's account by downloading and completing a Gift of Securities Form. Please fax completed forms to the Advancement Office at 416-324-9990.

For more information on The Branksome Hall Foundation or endowments, please contact the Advancement Office at 416-920-6265, ext. 212, or
