A Day of Alum Fun

It’s hard to say who had more fun—the kids on the bouncy castles or the grown-ups who brought them.
On Sunday, November 3, the Branksome Hall Alumnae Association hosted its fourth annual Family Fun Day. The day was filled with kid-friendly activities including face painting, karate lessons, bouncy castles and an interactive music performance from Sonshine and Broccoli. It was also an opportunity for alums to reconnect with one another and reminisce about their Branksome days.

“For the majority of alumnae with kids, especially young kids, finding time to break away from their families and join a Branksome Hall Alumnae event on their own is really tough given crazy family schedules,” says Karen CORDES Woods’99, President of the Branksome Hall Alumnae Association.

Over the four years it has been taking place, the eventnow attracts over 350 participants—a testament to its popularity with alums and their families. Not only is this event an opportunity to bring families together, it also brings multiple generations together.

From walking past Branksome’s heritage buildings, to experiencing the stunning Athletics and Wellness Centre, having this event on campus brings backs memories for alums and gives them a taste of what life at the school is like today. It is also a way to share the Branksome experience with friends and family.

Thank you to the Branksome Hall Alumnae Association who made this day possible. We can’t wait for next year’s event!

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We wish to acknowledge this land on which Branksome operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and go to school on this land.

Setting the new standard for girls' education everywhere takes collective action. From all of us.
