Interviews and Assessments
Grade 7
Grade 7 is a major entry year with up to 44 available spaces.

Students applying for Grade 7 are asked to prepare a portfolio of graded school work and personal accomplishments to present during the interview. Students can use any medium they wish to prepare their portfolio which should be an “All About Me” sharing of information that allows the interviewer to learn more about each student. Students will be interviewed first, as they share their portfolio, followed by time with the parents/guardians.

Grade 7 Portfolio Share Includes:
  • Portfolio Share Components
  • A teacher-marked Writing sample from Grade 6 – copy to be kept on file
  • A teacher-marked Mathematics test from Grade 6 – copy to be kept on file
  • A sample piece from a school project from current or past year
  • Any awards or certificates (Academic, Athletic, Arts, leadership, community service)
  • Any photos that highlight personal accomplishments
Grade 8
As Grade 8 is not an entry year, we do not conduct a full admissions process until we have confirmed openings. Applications are encouraged in the event spaces become available. Should we move forward with the application, an Admissions member will be in contact to schedule your interview.

Land Acknowledgement

We wish to acknowledge this land on which Branksome operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and go to school on this land.
