HOW TO APPLY - Middle School, Grade 7-8

Plan Your Virtual Visit
This year, we will be offering prospective families opportunities to virtually visit our campus and to learn more about our school. If you are unable to attend the live event, we will share recordings on our website for you to view.

Virtual Tours
We are excited to announce that families may tour Branksome Hall anytime from the comfort of their own space. We are offering a self-guided 3D virtual tour of the AWC, Middle School and Senior School here.

Middle School Virtual Open House: Grade 7
Please join us for our Middle School Virtual Open House on November 5.

Virtual Conversation Corners
We invite Grade 7 applicants to join our Virtual Conversation Corner on November 18 to learn more about our IB Advantage for Girls and specific supports for our Middle School students.

Ask an Ambassador
Grade 7 applicants can join our Virtual Ask an Ambassador session on November 21 to speak to some of our current student Ambassadors to ask questions and hear about the student experience first hand.

Interview
Once your daughter’s application is submitted, you will have the opportunity to book her virtual interview and pay the application fee through our online booking system. A member of our Admissions team will first interview your daughter, then parents will be invited in for the family interview portion.

Preparing for your Interview
Local students applying for Grade 7 are asked to prepare a portfolio of graded school work and personal accomplishments to present during the interview. Students can create a virtual portfolio to share in advance or during the virtual interview, or they may simply share articles during the virtual interview by holding items to the camera and describing for the interviewer. We want the portfolio to be an “All About Me” sharing of information that allows the interviewer to learn more about each student.

Grade 7 Portfolio Share include:
  • Portfolio Share Components
  • A teacher-marked Writing sample from Grade 6 – copy to be kept on file
  • A teacher-marked Mathematics test from Grade 6 – copy to be kept on file
  • A sample piece from a school project from current or past year
  • Any awards or certificates (Academic, Athletic, Arts, leadership, community service)
  • Any photos that highlight personal accomplishments

Grade 8
Please note that Grade 8 is not an entry year and spaces are attrition dependent. We do not conduct a full admissions process until we have confirmed openings. Applications are encouraged in the event spaces become available. Should we move forward with the application, an Admissions member will be in contact to schedule your daughter’s interview.
