How to Apply - Junior School, JK-Grade 6

Below are some essential steps when applying to Branksome Hall.

Plan Your Visit
We welcome you to come and visit Branksome Hall!
We hold Open Houses each fall and offer group and private tours. Book a school tour from September to November. Enjoy a student-led tour on the day of your interview between November and February. Our Admissions team looks forward to answering your questions during your visit. We are also available by phone or email. Each year, we travel internationally to meet families of potential boarding students. This fall, we will be traveling to Germany, Saudi Arabia, Bermuda, and USA.

Families applying to Junior Kindergarten (JK) and Senior Kindergarten (SK) will have a visit of approximately one and a half hours in January or February. Parents will meet for the interview, while applicants participate in a group classroom assessment.

Grades 1 - 4
Families applying to Grades 1 to 4 participate in a two-step process including a family interview on one day and a student assessment on another day. Students and parents attend interview appointments together. The interview visit is approximately one and a half hours and includes a tour of the Athletics and Wellness Centre, a student-led tour of the Junior School and a family interview.

  • Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3 applicants must also participate in our group assessment playdate on Saturday, February 8, 2020.
  • Grade 4 applicants must also participate in our assessment day on Friday, January 24, 2020.

All student assessments consider the age and stage of each applicant and explore her reading, writing, math and critical thinking proficiencies.
Grades 5 - 6
Please note that Grades 5 and 6 are not entry years for us and spaces are attrition dependent. We therefore do not conduct a full admissions process until such time as we have confirmed openings. We encourage applications in the event spaces become available, and the Admissions Office will reach out directly to applicants should we move forward with the process.
