HOW TO APPLY - BOARDING, GRADE 7-12

Learn more about Branksome Hall
As you consider Branksome Hall for the 2023 academic year, you may wish to attend one of our in-person Open Houses if possible, or join our Virtual Boarding Open House on November 18. You may also connect with us virtually through Conversation Corners and Ask Admissions events. Our expansive campus is highlighted in our 3D virtual tours and you can also meet a few students and school administrators as you visit spaces in the virtual tours.

Submit Application
  • Create an account to allow you to complete and submit your application, including payment of the application fee
  • Once your application is processed, a Checklist will be assigned to your account where you will then have the ability to upload required documents including:
    1. Birth certificate and/or passport
    2. Relevant report cards
    3. Mandatory introduction video
    4. There are links to Teacher Recommendation Forms that you can download directly from the Checklist step for completion by a Math and English teacher
Video, Interviews and Assessments
Once the application is submitted and all required documents are uploaded, including the submission of the mandatory video, selected applicants will be contacted by the Admissions team to schedule an interview. As spaces are limited, not every applicant will be interviewed.

The brief 2 minute video is an opportunity for the applicant to introduce themselves to the Admissions team and to share why they are interested in attending Branksome Hall.

All report cards/transcripts must be submitted before the Admissions Office will schedule the interview.

Assessment:
Students applying for Grade 7 and Grade 8 are asked to prepare a portfolio of graded school work and personal accomplishments to present during the interview. Students can use any medium they wish to prepare their portfolio which should be an “All About Me” sharing of information that allows the interviewer to learn more about each student. Students will be interviewed first, as they share their portfolio, followed by time with the parents/guardians.

Grade 9-11 Boarding applicants to either write our Branksome Hall Math and English Entrance Tests or submit their results of the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test). For more information on writing the SSAT, please visit the SSAT website. Students interested in the Branksome Hall Entrance Tests will complete the English portion during their interview and a separate date will be shared for the Math Test.

Land Acknowledgement

We wish to acknowledge this land on which Branksome operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and go to school on this land.
