From Junior Kindergarten through Grade 6, the PYP challenges students to think critically, research deeply, and develop globally minded perspectives on a broad range of issues.
The curriculum is developed and revised based on the latest research related to brain development and how children learn. It is based on the five essential PYP elements that direct the program:
- Concepts
- Skills
- Knowledge
- Attitudes
- Action
Our PYP pedagogy is embedded in best practices for teaching young children, following an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary, holistic approach to learning. Using six internationally set themes, students learn globally relevant and challenging concepts:
- Who we are
- Where we are in place and time
- How we express ourselves
- How the world works
- How we organize ourselves, and
- Sharing the planet
