I am an unabashed fan of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program offered at top independent schools such as Branksome Hall. My enthusiasm for IB is based on two observations from my career in higher education.
First, the inherent intensity of the IB curriculum produces not only subject matter expertise, but it also develops significant discipline, time management and critical thinking skills.
Second, the high school to university transition remains challenging and many students experience a GPA decline in their first term/year. In my experience, IB graduates often stand out in their ability to make a smooth and successful transition to university and, notably, maintain higher GPA levels of excellence than most other university students.
