Guidance Counsellor
Teaches Learning Strategies

“I recently celebrated my 25th year at Branksome, and I feel as though the school has become part of my DNA.”
My passion for teaching was ignited right here at Branksome Hall. I began my career as a school nurse and was then given the opportunity to fill in as a Science teacher. Once I'd experienced the joy of being in the classroom, I was hooked!

My background in health care informs my work as a Guidance Counsellor in so many ways. I believe that girls truly thrive when they achieve good physical, mental and emotional health, and I love being a part of Branksome's outdoor education programs, such as our Week Without Halls trips, because they celebrate physical health and teamwork.

As the mother of a Branksome student and a recent graduate, I see the results of the school's incredible support system in the success of my own daughters. There is no cookie-cutter Branksome girl; the school gives each girl the permission and skills that she needs to become the woman she was meant to be. I'm so proud of what my daughters have accomplished here.

I couldn't be happier to have developed my career in such an incredible learning environment. Branksome has given me room to grow professionally and provided many exciting opportunities, such as participating in our first exchange trip to Branksome Hall Asia. No two days are ever the same and I love it.

As a Guidance Counsellor, Learning Strategies teacher and IB parent, I see the incredible value of the IB's exceptional liberal arts education. The program keeps students open to all areas of the arts and sciences and doesn't force them into one particular direction too early during their learning journey.

One of my greatest passions is learning about the different ways of learning. I counsel the girls to explore different ways of understanding the world around them so that they can make strong and informed decisions in their own lives.
