 Application Details

All students, day or residence, must meet the same application requirements and take the same academic tests. When students live far away from the school, we make every effort to meet them personally before they enter the school.

International students for Grade 7 to 11 must write the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test). For test locations in your area, please visit the SSAT website.

Grade 11: Students entering Grade 11 must apply for the full two-year IB Diploma Program.

Visa applications
Residence and international students should apply early, since the process for obtaining a visa may be lengthy. From outside Canada, families should contact a Canadian embassy, high commission or consulate, or consult the web site to learn about Studying in Canada >>

Letters of recommendation
Students who come from outside Ontario are required to supply a letter of recommendation from the Principal of their school and/or a counselor or teacher, who can attest to the student's strengths and describe her classroom demeanor. This letter should also include a description of the school's system of grading and evaluation.

Students who come from outside Ontario are required to have their current English and Math teacher complete the teacher recommendation form.

English language proficiency
Any student whose first language is not English will undergo additional entrance testing to evaluate their English competence. If your first or best language is not English, you may wish to consider applying to Branksome Hall at a younger age so that language skills may become secure before entering the last two years of high school.
