The clowns pose for a fun photo!

Clowning Around
The art of clowning is all about making ‘em laugh, usually while learning some new improv skills along the way.

Grade 9 Drama students were happy to share their unique and dynamic clown characters at Sunny View Public School recently. They performed their clown turns for a very enthusiastic and appreciative audience, and it gave them a chance to practise their characters.
One of the students at Sunny View thoughtfully asked: “Why did you bring your clowns here to our school?” Teacher Jenny Boisvert replied that Sunny View is a warm and welcoming community, and we wanted our clowns to perform for this amazing audience.

“Our students did not want to leave; a meaningful relationship between our students and theirs was formed, and we are planning to return again,” said Ms Boisvert.

Grade 9 students also performed their clown turns for a Grade 2 class in Branksome’s Junior School last week. The clowns worked to please their young audience by performing a specific task.

“The audience clapped and laughed at the antics of our clowns—clowns often get into a bit of a mess!” said Ms Boisvert. “The performance was an incredible experience for both classes.”
