 6:00 a.m. Rowing

I start my day early with a rowing practice in the erg room. Rowing is a sport that I have started this year at Branksome Hall. We practise every morning, either doing erg or fitness workouts led by the numerous coaches, including Scott Fleming. So far, I have been loving the sport and I hope to continue rowing for future years to come.

 8:20 a.m. Math

My academic day begins in my Extended Math class. Prior to now, we have covered exponents, algebra and geometry. My favorite unit has been Algebra, as I love using the distributive property to multiply polynomials. An essential element of Math is being able to fully communicate my answers, which I can do by using my tablet computer with the program OneNote.

 11:20 a.m. Lunch/Period 3

Being the Grade 9 representative of student life, every other week at lunch I attend a Student Life Committee Meeting. In these meetings, the committee discusses ways in which we can, add or change different programs in support of making Branksome Hall a better community for all girls.

 12:50 p.m. Science

In Science, we have learned many interesting concepts, such as the energy transfer throughout a food chain as well as ionic and molecular compounds. During class, it is always intriguing to see how these concepts relate to real life.

 6:15 p.m. Dance

After school, I go to dance for two or three hours at Turning Pointe Academy of Dance. I have been dancing there for eight years and was a part of their competitive team for six years, we have been to regional as well as national competitions. With all the activities I participate inside and outside of school, it has helped me learn how to manage my time efficiently, so I will be able to finish all of my homework.
