As President, now in my second term, I look forward to another fabulous year of working with the fine group of dedicated and enthusiastic Executive Committee members who so ably represent our alumnae community.
The Branksome we knew and loved as students is thriving and, in the coming year, my committee and I promise to focus our efforts on increasing awareness of our amazing alumnae network by encouraging you to remain connected with each other and with this great school.
The newly formed Networking Committee is planning a great evening on February 2, 2012 for entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. Details will be posted on the website and through The Road.
Our mandate continues to be “to build and maintain alumnae relationships while raising funds in support of Branksome Hall’s mission and vision.”
Student Financial Aid is high on our list of priorities and we are proud that we can be involved in enabling students to experience a Branksome education through our support of three half-bursaries and the Alumnae Association Endowed Bursary Fund.
In addition to profits from sales of crested items in the Alumnae Shop, events such as take pART also raise funds for Student Financial Aid. This wonderful art show was acknowledged by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) with the 2011 Bronze Prix d’Excellence Award in the category of Best Alumni Event! take pART returns on April 19, 2012, so stay tuned as details unfold.
There are also many other social events during the school year that continue to be popular — Plaid Tidings, the Carol Service, branch receptions and, of course, Reunions are all great occasions to enjoy good times with your classmates, former teachers and friends.
